Industrial concrete flooring is one of the very important tasks when executing a construction project. Therefore, the right construction methods need to be implemented to achieve the most efficiency. In the following article, Dufago will share the steps to complete the industrial concrete flooring procedure.
Dufago shares the methods and steps to follow as below:
Preparation Before Pouring Concrete.
- Determine the level of the floor based on the standardized water-level measurement method: The minimum level of floor elevation is 0 or by local standards.
- It is necessary to firmly compact soil to ensure the bearing capacity of the industrial floor.
Waterproofing Coat Application Before Pouring Concrete.
- One of the precautions when constructing a project is not to execute any constructing activities on the substrate surface with moisture escaping. In order to avoid the above-mentioned moisture condition of the substrate as well as the infiltration of moisture from the foundation onto the concrete floor, it is necessary to use epoxy paint to apply a waterproofing layer before pouring concrete.
Industrial Waterproof Flooring Coatings
Commonly used waterproofing methods for industrial floors are as follows: Apply a coating layer of geotextile or polypropylene (PP) fabric with bituminous membranes.
- Apply two layers of polyethylene (PE) membrane vertically one after another – a commonly used method.
- Cold or hot-applied bituminous membranes.
- Spread bitumen roll hot or cold glue
Pouring Industrial Concrete Floors
- Grades of concrete should be at M250 or above.
- The industrial floor must have contraction joints.
- After completing the concrete pouring process as well as ensuring the above technical requirements, proceed to leveling the industrial floor. It is usually carried out after about 3 hours depending on weather conditions. After the concrete layer is set, use a power trowel (troweling machine) to smooth the whole industrial floor. It is an essential stage to ensure the aesthetics of the projects
Methods For Curing of Concrete Floors
- Curing process of concrete should take place continuously for 7 days or for 28 days. Refer to proper methods for curing of concrete, access here: https://dufago.com.vn/phuong-phap-bao-duong-be-tong-dung-cach/
- The industrial floor must have contraction joints.
- Using a power trowel to smooth the industrial floor to ensure its flatness.
Check and request the quality of the factory floor
The Standard to evaluate the quality of the factory floor as follows:
- Enough marks: Reinforcement and concrete floors need enough marks to ensure the bearing capacity of the factory floor.
- Dry enough: The floor must be able to absorb water and drain evenly, not wet locally, when touching the right hand, it does not feel cold.
- Flat enough: The entire floor surface should be relatively flat, not allowing deviation to the level of the naked eye.
- Smooth and porous enough: The surface of the floor after concreting the factory floor needs to be smooth but porous so that the epoxy paint can penetrate deeply, adhere and bond well to the concrete floor.
